ABOUT ME
My passion for art began at a very young age - my parents sat me down in front of classic Fleischer Brothers cartoons like Popeye the Sailor and Superman when I was about three years old. They didn't know it at the time, but they were offering valuable career guidance for me (thanks, Mom & Dad!). Mesmerized by the power of moving drawings, I've been hooked ever since!
Since earning my BFA in Animation from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2006, I've had the great fortune of working on some awesome projects. This includes work for places like Zynga Inc, Disruptor Beam, 38 Studios, Tom Snyder Productions, Marvel (via aniboom.com), CIDC, and KoolConnect Technologies. I also had the opportunity to serve as the department chair for Game Art & Animation at Mount Ida College from 2012 - 2018, where I helped the next generation of budding artists create some fantastic projects of their own. While I certainly enjoy a wide range of subject matter when it comes to art, I tend to gravitate heavily toward characters. I'm sure it goes right back to the Fleischer Brothers, but I find true joy in rendering the human figure. I'm also drawn to fantastical subject matter (no surprise considering the wealth of super heroics filling my portfolio). Additionally, I have found a real love for the "motion comics" style of animation that has become popular in recent years. I believe this style is a tremendous way to articulate the drama behind great illustration. And, I love exploring new technologies and software for art creation! When not working on a new art project, you'll likely find me enjoying time with my beautiful wife Kristen, and our pets Wanda, Sebastian, and Ada (all three are practically animated characters in their own right). |
